At Belleza Canela, we take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what rights you have over it.
Belleza Canela is an independent, personal project. We never sell your information to anyone, under any circumstances.
What information we collect
We collect the information you give us directly, plus some basic technical data needed to keep the site running securely:
- Account data: your name, email address, and password. Your password is stored securely (hashed) — we never store or see it in plain text.
- Profile data (optional): bio, username, skin tone, and undertone, if you choose to share them.
- Content you publish: reviews and photos, dupe suggestions, saved looks, and the products in your virtual kit.
- Your email address, if you subscribe to our newsletter.
- Basic technical data, such as your IP address, used only to prevent spam and abuse on public forms.
How we use your information
- To create and maintain your account, and show your content (reviews, saved looks, etc.) when you're logged in.
- To send emails you specifically requested: a password reset, or our newsletter if you subscribed.
- To protect the site against spam, bots, and abuse on public forms.
- To improve the site, using fully anonymous usage statistics (see "Cookies" below).
Cookies
We use a minimal number of first-party cookies, essential to the site working:
- A session cookie, to keep you logged in.
- A preference cookie, to remember whether you prefer light or dark mode.
- A cookie from the Cloudflare Turnstile security widget, used on our public forms to protect them from automated spam.
We do not use tracking or advertising cookies. Our usage statistics (Cloudflare Web Analytics) don't use cookies and don't identify individual visitors.
Who we share information with
We use a few trusted external services to run the site:
- Cloudflare — hosts the site, protects forms from spam (Turnstile), and provides anonymous usage statistics.
- Resend — sends the emails you request (password resets, the newsletter).
- Google — only if you choose to sign in with your Google account, in which case Google verifies your identity.
We never sell or share your information for advertising purposes.
How long we keep your data
We keep your account information and content for as long as your account exists. Logged-in sessions automatically expire after 7 days of inactivity. If you delete your account from the "Danger Zone" in your profile, your information is permanently removed.
Your rights
You have full control over your information:
- You can view and edit your information from your profile at any time.
- You can permanently delete your account and all your content from the "Danger Zone" in your profile.
- You can unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time, using the link included in every email.
- For any other request about your information, contact us (see "Contact" below).
Security
Your password is never stored in plain text. All connections to the site are encrypted (HTTPS), and we limit login attempts to protect your account against automated attacks.
Children
Belleza Canela is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from children under that age.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
